This summer, I got to explore a new venue that opened this year in New Albany, Indiana. And I am DYING to shoot a wedding here.
Built in 1837, this nearly 200 year old Greek revival served many purposes. It started as a bank, became a dance hall, was the home of the Red Cross, and now it is ready to host your weddings and events. The first floor offers a timeless, versatile space. White walls, beautiful chandeliers, and space for banquet tables or a dance floor if that’s more your speed.
Right off the 1st floor space, you have access to these gorgeous columns. This would be perfect for a cocktail hour, or even a small outdoor ceremony.
Now, as for the upstairs, that space is a SHOW STOPPER!
This area is perfect for getting ready, ceremony, and reception. The star feature beautiful, and the uplighting can be customized to whatever matches your theme the best. This room can easily transition from ceremony to reception while your guests go downstairs for cocktail hour.
Now, my favorite room in the Parthenon is the study. This could be a perfect space for getting ready; while it definitely has more of a traditional “grooms room” vibe, I think some elegant getting ready shots can happen with those mirrors and with the library.
Long story short, I think we could make some BEAUTIFUL portraits here. If you’re looking for a wedding venue in New Albany, I highly recommend The Parthenon.
